Basco is the capital and largest municipality of Batanes province in the Philippines, on Batan Island in the Cagayan Valley region, and is named for the Spanish governor-general Jose Basco y Vargas. Its 2024 census population was 9,647 across six barangays, and it is home to the Basco Lighthouse and Basco Cathedral and the province airport.
