Basseterre is the capital and largest city of Saint Kitts and Nevis, located on the southwestern coast of Saint Kitts. It serves as one of the chief commercial depots of the Leeward Islands and is among the oldest towns in the Eastern Caribbean. It was settled in 1627, and had a population of 16,696 as of 2024.
