Bautzen, also known as Budysin, is a town in eastern Saxony, Germany, and the administrative centre of the district of Bautzen. Located on the Spree river, it is the eighth most populous town in Saxony and lies within the bilingual Sorbian settlement area of Lusatia, where it ranks as Lusatia's third largest town after Cottbus and Gorlitz and the second largest in Upper Lusatia.
