Bibracte was a Gallic oppidum, one of the most important hillforts in Gaul, located near modern Autun in Burgundy, France. Associated with the Late Iron Age La Tène culture, it served as the capital of the Aedui, a powerful Gallic tribe, before the Roman conquest.
