Bokhtar, previously known as Qurghonteppa, Kurganteppa and Kurgan-Tyube, is a city in southwestern Tajikistan and the capital of Khatlon Region. It is the largest urban center in southern Tajikistan, positioned about 100 kilometers south of the national capital Dushanbe and 150 kilometers north of Kunduz, Afghanistan.
