Borsodnádasd is a small industrial town in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county in northern Hungary, about 80 kilometres from the county seat of Miskolc and 10 kilometres from Ózd. First documented in 1210 as Nádasd, it belonged to the Nádasdy family estate in the Middle Ages and had its own church by 1332. Coal mining drove industrial growth in the nineteenth century, and the settlement took its present name in 1903 before receiving town status in 2001. As of 2015 it had 3,079 residents across roughly 28 square kilometres.
