Brampton is the ninth most populous municipality in Canada and the regional seat of the Regional Municipality of Peel, and the third most populous city in the Greater Golden Horseshoe urban area, behind Toronto and Mississauga. Part of the Greater Toronto Area in the Canadian province of Ontario, it is a lower-tier municipality within the Peel Region, bordered by Vaughan to the east, Halton Hills to the west, Caledon to the north, Mississauga to the south and Etobicoke to the southeast.
