Caloocan, officially the City of Caloocan, is a highly urbanized city in the National Capital Region of the Philippines, with a population of about 1.71 million according to the 2024 census. One of the most densely populated cities in Metro Manila, Caloocan holds historical significance as the site where the Katipunan revolutionary movement against Spanish colonial rule was founded in the late nineteenth century, and today functions as a major residential and commercial part of the wider Manila metropolis.
