Carupano is a city in the eastern Venezuelan state of Sucre, on the Caribbean coast at the opening of two valleys, about 120 kilometers east of the state capital Cumana. It is the seat of Bermudez Municipality, which had a population of 173,877 according to the 2010 census, and serves as the main commercial and financial center for the Paria Peninsula region.
