Cedar Park is a city in Williamson County in Texas, United States, with a small portion extending into Travis County, and a suburb of Austin about 16 miles northwest of downtown. Its population was 77,595 at the 2020 census and was estimated at 79,032 in 2025. The community grew from the ranch George and Harriet Cluck started in 1873 around the Running Brushy spring. It was briefly called Bruggerhoff after a railroad official when the Austin and Northwestern Railroad arrived, and in 1887 Emmett Cluck renamed it Cedar Park. The city was incorporated in 1973 and runs a council-manager government.
