Changchun is the capital and largest city of Jilin Province, China, on the Songliao Plain in the country's northeast, administered as a sub-provincial city. Once the capital of the Japanese puppet state of Manchukuo, Changchun developed into one of China's leading centers of automobile manufacturing and film production, and remains an important industrial, transport and educational hub in the northeast.
