Chatham-Kent is a single-tier municipality in southwestern Ontario, Canada, governed as one unified local government rather than as a county or region. It is largely rural in character, with seven main population centers spread across its territory: Chatham, Wallaceburg, Tilbury, Blenheim, Ridgetown, Wheatley, and Dresden. The current municipal structure dates to 1998, when twenty-one smaller communities and townships, including the former City of Chatham, were consolidated into the single municipality.
