Chiyoda, officially Chiyoda City in English, is a special ward of Tokyo, Japan, located in the heart of the 23 special wards. It consists of the Imperial Palace and a surrounding radius of about a kilometre, and it is known as the political and financial center of Japan. It is by far the least populated of the special wards, with 66,680 residents in October 2020. The residential part of the ward lies at the heart of Yamanote, the traditional upper-class residential area of Tokyo, and Bancho, Kojimachi and Kioicho are considered its most exclusive neighbourhoods. The ward covers 11.66 square kilometres.
