Cholpon-Ata is a resort town on the northern shore of Lake Issyk-Kul in Kyrgyzstan, in the foothills of the Kyungei Ala-Too range, with a population of 14,237 as of 2021. Once a stop on the Silk Road, it became one of the Soviet Union's most popular summer retreats and remains Issyk-Kul's best-known resort, known for its sandy beaches and an open-air petroglyph museum spread across 42 hectares.
