Colorado Springs is a home rule city that is the county seat of and the most populous city in El Paso County, Colorado, with a population of about 479,000 at the 2020 census, the second-most populous city in the state. Set at the foot of Pikes Peak in the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains, the city is home to the United States Air Force Academy and several other major military installations, along with a large tourism industry built around the surrounding mountain scenery.
