Comilla, officially spelled Cumilla, is a metropolis on the banks of the Gumti River in eastern Bangladesh, and was once a capital of the historic Tripura kingdom. One of the oldest cities of ancient Bengal, Comilla today serves as a district administrative center and is known regionally for khadi cloth production and for its rossomalai, a well-known Bengali sweet associated with the city.
