Coroneia, also spelled Coronea, was a town of ancient Boeotia and a member of the Boeotian League, situated on high ground near Mount Helicon. Tradition held that the town was founded by Boeotians from Arne in Thessaly after they were driven from their original homes, and that they named it after a Thessalian town of the same name, and they built before the city a temple of Athena Itonica that hosted the Pamboeotia festival shared by all Boeotians.
