Dardanus, also called Dardanum or Dardania, was an ancient city in the Troad region of Anatolia; the Roman writer Pliny the Elder referred to it as Dardanium. Its location is securely established by an inscription found at the site naming the city itself, and coins minted there carried the legends DAR and DARDAN.
