Denpasar is the capital and largest city of the Indonesian province of Bali, in southern Bali on the Lesser Sunda Islands. Its population was about 670,200 at the end of 2024. Founded in 1788 and made an autonomous city in 1992, Denpasar is the main gateway to Bali and a hub for the wider Lesser Sunda Islands, with a population that remains predominantly Balinese and Hindu.
