Dillingen an der Donau is a town in Swabia, Bavaria, Germany, on the Danube River, serving as the administrative center of the district of Dillingen, with a population of 19,806 as of December 31, 2024 across 75.59 square kilometers. The municipality includes the town proper and six villages: Donaualtheim, Fristingen, Hausen, Kicklingen, Schretzheim and Steinheim. Historically a center of the Counter-Reformation, it was home to a university founded in 1549 and closed by Napoleon in 1804, and today Bosch and Siemens Household Appliances are among its largest employers.
