Gargara was an ancient Greek city on the southern coast of the Troad region of Anatolia. It was originally located beneath Mount Gargaron, one of the three peaks of Mount Ida, now known as Koca Kaya, before the settlement moved about 5.8 kilometers south in the fourth century BC to a site near the modern villages of Arikli and Nusratli. After the move the original site became known as Old Gargara. Both sites lie in the Ayvacik district of Canakkale Province, Turkey.
