Gödöllő is a city in Pest County in the Budapest metropolitan area of Hungary, about 30 kilometers northeast of Budapest, with a population of 34,396 at the 2010 census. It is home to Szent István University, the country's main agricultural education institute, and to a royal palace originally built for the Grassalkovich family that later served as the summer residence of Emperor Franz Joseph and Empress Elisabeth of Austria-Hungary.
