Gorzow Wielkopolski

Gorzow Wielkopolski is a city in western Poland on the Warta River, one of two seats, alongside Zielona Gora, of the Lubusz Voivodeship. Known before 1945 by its German name Landsberg an der Warthe, the city's history dates to the thirteenth century, with city rights granted in 1257, and its Gothic Saint Mary's Cathedral dates from the late thirteenth century. As of 30 June 2024 the population was 114,567 across 85.72 square kilometers, and the city, nicknamed the city of parks and gardens for its many green spaces, has a strong tradition in speedway racing, home to the Stal Gorzow Wielkopolski team, nine-time Polish champions.
