Goulburn is a regional city in the Southern Tablelands of New South Wales, Australia, about 195 kilometres southwest of Sydney and 90 kilometres northeast of Canberra. Proclaimed by letters patent of Queen Victoria in 1863, it is regarded as Australia's first inland city and had a population of 24,565 at the 2021 census. It serves as a regional hub for health and government services along the Hume Highway, and is home to the Big Merino, a large concrete sculpture of a sheep.
