Gyomro

Gyomro is a town in Pest County, Hungary, in the Budapest metropolitan area, about 30 kilometers southeast of the capital in the hilly Monor region. First documented in 1274, it developed significantly under the Teleki family, who became its main landowners by the late 18th century, and it was granted city status in 2001 after major roads and railway lines connecting northern, eastern, and southern Hungary came to pass through it. The town preserves local traditions through annual events such as Rakoczi Days and had a population of approximately 15,290 in 2008.
