Hafnarfjordur, officially Hafnarfjardarkaupstadur, is a port town and municipality in Iceland located about 10 kilometers south of Reykjavik. The municipality consists of two non-contiguous areas within the Capital Region on Iceland's southwest coast. With approximately 31,500 inhabitants, it is the third most populous municipality in Iceland after Reykjavik and Kopavogur, and it has developed local industry alongside a variety of urban activities and annual festival events.
