Halen, formerly known as Haelen, is a municipality and town in the Belgian province of Limburg, west of the city of Hasselt. As of January 1, 2018, it had a total population of 9,461 across an area of 36.29 square kilometres, a density of 261 inhabitants per square kilometre.
