Iba is a municipality and the capital of Zambales province, in the Central Luzon region of the Philippines. Founded in 1611 by Augustinian Recollect priests as the village of Paynauen, it later became the provincial capital in place of Masinloc for its central location, and it had a 2024 census population of 59,580 across 153.38 square kilometers. The town is the birthplace of Ramon Magsaysay, the seventh president of the Philippines, and takes its name from the iba tree, Phyllanthus acidus, whose sour fruit is a local product.
