Jalgaon is a city in the state of Maharashtra, India, in the North Maharashtra sub-region of Khandesh, and serves as the administrative headquarters of Jalgaon district and the largest city in Khandesh. It sits on Asian Highway 53, with the Girna river flowing along its western part, and is colloquially known as the "Banana City of India" since farmers in the surrounding region grow roughly two thirds of Maharashtra's banana production.
