Jamshoro is a city in Sindh, Pakistan, and the capital of Jamshoro District, on the right bank of the Indus River about 18 kilometers northwest of Hyderabad and 150 kilometers northeast of Karachi. Known as Education City for its concentration of universities, including the University of Sindh, Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, and Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, it is predominantly Sindhi-speaking and Muslim. Nearby Ranikot Fort, sometimes called the Great Wall of Sindh, has been on the UNESCO tentative World Heritage list since 1993. The 2023 census recorded a population of 88,190.
