Järvenpää is a town in the Uusimaa region of southern Finland, on Lake Tuusula about 37 kilometers north of Helsinki on the Helsinki to Riihimäki railway line. It has a population of approximately 47,000, the 24th highest of any Finnish municipality, and is part of the Helsinki metropolitan area, whose population is about 1.62 million. Its neighboring municipalities are Tuusula, Sipoo and Mäntsälä.
