Jizan is a city and the capital of Jazan Province in the southwest corner of Saudi Arabia, situated on the coast of the Red Sea. The city itself had a population of 173,919 as of 2022, while the wider Jizan region held over 1.4 million people, and it serves a large agricultural heartland noted for high-quality mangoes, figs, papayas, plums and coffee. As the regional capital, Jizan has its own regional airport and seaport, and it is the site of one of the kingdom's largest megaprojects, including Saudi Aramco's Jazan Refinery with associated Red Sea terminal facilities.
