Kalisz is a city in central Poland with 97,905 residents as of December 2021, the second-largest city in Greater Poland Voivodeship and capital of the Kalisz Land. Situated on the Prosna river, it is one of Poland's oldest cities and, alongside Poznan, a traditional capital of Greater Poland, having served as a significant regional center since the Middle Ages; it is also the seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Kalisz.
