Kamen is a town in the Unna district of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, at the eastern end of the Ruhr area, about 10 kilometers southwest of Hamm and 25 kilometers northeast of Dortmund. The town is known for the nearby Kamener Kreuz, the highway interchange where the north-south A1 and east-west A2 autobahns meet, a junction prone to heavy traffic. Kamen comprises six districts and covers 40.95 square kilometers; as of December 31, 2025, it had a population of 42,139.
