Kamenz, also known by its Sorbian name Kamjenc, is a town in the district of Bautzen in Saxony, Germany, northeast of the city of Dresden. It served as the administrative seat of Kamenz District until 2008 and is known as the birthplace of the philosopher and poet Gotthold Ephraim Lessing.
