Kamëz is a municipality in Tirana County, Albania, built on the site of an ancient Illyrian settlement. Before the 1990s it was a sparsely populated, largely agricultural area, but after the political transition in Albania it saw a massive influx of residents from across the country. Its current form dates to the 2015 local government reform, which merged the former municipalities of Kamëz and Paskuqan into a single administrative unit of two municipal subdivisions. According to the 2023 census the wider municipality had 96,137 residents, with 61,739 living in the core administrative unit, across a total area of 37.20 square kilometers; it applied for the 2019 European Green Capital Award, which ultimately went to Oslo.
