Karmiel is a city in the Northern District of Israel, established in 1964 as a development town in the Beit HaKerem Valley, which divides upper and lower Galilee. It lies south of the Acre-Safed road, 32 kilometers from Safed, 20 kilometers from Ma'alot-Tarshiha and 20 kilometers from Acre, and had a population of 47,941 in 2024.
