Katni, officially Murwara, is a city on the banks of the Katni River in Madhya Pradesh, India, and the administrative headquarters of Katni District. It is known for its limestone and cement factories, often called the City of Lime, and lies in the Mahakoshal region of central India, 90 kilometers from the divisional headquarters at Jabalpur.
