Kidapawan is a component city and the capital of Cotabato province in the Soccsksargen region of the Philippines, at the foot of Mount Apo, the country highest mountain. Established as a municipal district in 1914 and chartered as a city in 1998, it had a 2024 census population of 160,864, the most populous in the province, and serves as an economic hub for eastern Cotabato with banana plantations and geothermal power generation.
