Kopavogur is a town in Iceland and the country's second-largest municipality by population, lying immediately south of Reykjavik within the Capital Region; its name literally means seal pup inlet, and the town seal depicts the profile of the church Kopavogskirkja with a seal pup beneath it. The town consists largely of residential areas alongside commercial and industrial activity, and it is home to the Smaratorg Tower, the tallest building in Iceland.
