Kralendijk is the capital and main port of Bonaire, part of the Caribbean Netherlands within the Kingdom of the Netherlands, with a population of 10,620 as of 2017. Its name comes from the Dutch for coral dike, and it is known locally in Papiamentu as Playa, meaning beach; nearby lies Klein Bonaire, an uninhabited island noted for diving and snorkeling.
