Kyritz is a town in the Ostprignitz-Ruppin district of Brandenburg, Germany, about 17 miles west of Neuruppin, with a population recorded as 9,260 in 2019 and 9,147 at the end of 2024. The town obtained municipal status in 1237 and became a member of the Hanseatic League in 1359. In 1488 the first brewery was founded in Kyritz, and beer from that tradition is still brewed today in Neuzelle.
