Lalitpur, locally known as Yala, is a metropolitan city in Nepal and the country's fourth most populous, with 299,843 inhabitants across 77,159 households recorded in the 2021 census. It lies in the south-central part of the Kathmandu Valley, a large valley amid the high plateaus of central Nepal, at an altitude of 1,350 meters.
