Lamitan is a component city and the de jure capital of Basilan province in the Philippines, founded in June 1886 by Pedro Javier Cuevas, known as Datu Kalun. It gained cityhood in 2007, had a 2024 census population of 116,652 across 45 barangays, and serves as Basilan own administrative center.
