Leer is a town in the district of Leer, in the East Frisia region of northwestern Lower Saxony, Germany. It sits on the river Leda, a tributary of the Ems, near the border with the Netherlands, and with 34,958 inhabitants in 2021 it is the third-largest town in East Frisia after Emden and Aurich.
