Lokeren is a city and municipality in Belgium's East Flanders province, in the Waasland region, with more than 42,100 inhabitants. Situated on the Durme and Lede rivers near the E17 motorway, it is the second most important city in Waasland after Sint-Niklaas and is nicknamed the Durme City for its riverside setting.
