Luwuk is the capital of Banggai Regency in Central Sulawesi, Indonesia, with 34,849 residents at the 2020 census across 72.82 square kilometers after boundary adjustments in 2012 and 2015. Home to two universities and served by Syukuran Aminuddin Amir Airport, it sits in a region with a tropical savanna climate that makes it one of Indonesia's driest locations, and its population includes the indigenous Saluan, Balantak and Banggai peoples.
