Ma'an is a city in southern Jordan, 218 kilometers southwest of the capital Amman, and serves as the capital of the Ma'an Governorate. Its population was approximately 41,055 in 2015. The city sits just northwest of an ancient town of the same name dating to the Nabatean period, and is an important transport hub on both the ancient King's Highway and the modern Desert Highway.
