Manzanillo, Cuba

Manzanillo is a municipality and port city in Granma Province in eastern Cuba, on the Gulf of Guacanayabo near the delta of the Cauto River, with 123,542 residents as of 2022 across 498 square kilometers, making it the fourteenth largest Cuban city and the largest that is not a provincial seat. Founded in 1784, it was granted the title of Fiel by the Spanish crown in 1837 for its loyalty during political upheaval, and today hosts a large crocodile sanctuary, the medical science faculty of the University of Granma, and industries built on coffee, sugarcane, rice, tobacco, sawmilling, fish canning and cigar making.
