Marathesium, also called Marathesion, was a small polis of ancient Ionia on the Anatolian coast south of Ephesus and a member of the Ionian League, though scholars classify it as a dependent polis rather than an independent member. It was attached in turn to Melia, then to Miletus after Melia's defeat in the Meliac War, then to Samos by a legal claim based on occupation, and finally to Ephesus under a treaty that swapped cities.
